Dr. Rebecca Huang believes in working with the body as a whole. Just as the knee is connected to the hip, so the hip is connected to the lower back – or, in her words, “everything is connected”. Her training reflects this belief – in addition to her degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Huang is a certified practitioner of Sacro-Occipital Technique®. This is an indicator diagnostic and treatment system that treats patients based on indicators found throughout the body and then post-checks for proper change. She is also trained in advanced cranial work and has completed the Applied Kinesiology certification as well as seminars in P-DTR technique.
Because everyone is different, Dr. Huang tailors her care to each patient’s needs. Her goal is always to first find and then treat the root cause, rather than to merely relieve the symptoms. For example, if someone comes in with foot pain it could be a long-term result of an unstable hip area that causes the knee to collapse then the foot takes on more of the work which eventually leads to the dysfunction in the foot. She has seen patients of different ages that have had chronic headaches, low back pain, hip pain, and other conditions. She’s passionate about getting her patients back to being able to do what they love without pain or discomfort.
In addition to being a chiropractor, Dr. Huang is an avid classical music fan. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the violin, hitting the gym, and occasionally fixing her husband’s back. Dr. Huang is Canadian and enjoys making a few trips up to Tahoe in the winter to enjoy the snow.
